The celebration was graced by Bishop Francis Than Htun, together with sixteen priests, religious sisters from various congregations, brothers, seminarians, and many villagers and guests who joined in thanksgiving for God’s abundant blessings over the past five decades.
The event began with the blessing of the statue of St. Mary Euphrasia and the Jubilee candle at the Good Shepherd Convent. Bishop Francis Than Htun, assisted by altar servers and concelebrating priests, led the solemn ceremony, invoking God’s grace upon the mission community. Religious sisters, parishioners, and local faithful gathered prayerfully, honoring the founding spirit of St. Mary Euphrasia and her legacy of compassionate service.
After the blessing, participants proceeded in a joyful procession to the church, accompanied by hymns and the Golden Jubilee theme song. The spirit of gratitude filled the air as the congregation reflected on fifty years of faith, service, and transformation in Magyikwin Village as the Sisters and the villagers had been through a spiritual preparation before the celebration.
During the Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration, Bishop Francis Than Htun delivered a deeply moving homily centered on gratitude—thanking God for the enduring presence and mission of the Good Shepherd Sisters and their tireless service to the most vulnerable members of society.
Following the Mass, all attendees shared a communal lunch, signifying unity, joy, and fellowship among the religious and lay faithful. The gathering was filled with heartfelt conversations, laughter, and appreciation for the shared journey of faith.
The celebration concluded with words of gratitude from community representatives, expressing appreciation for the Good Shepherd Mission’s fifty years of pastoral care and service in Magyikwin Village.
